Lucca Days 3-5

Lucca is definitely our rest and relaxation location of this trip. We've walked the streets, the wall, got take away deli goods, pizza and pasta, and are simply enjoying being here. And although not exciting, a little R&R is just what we needed. After walking our feet off seeing all the things at our other destinations, simply being and not doing is quite nice.

Now it's time for me to depart Lucca and head home while mom and dad continue on to La Spezia for a few days before they head home. Three weeks definitely seems to be my max travel period and I'm looking forward to the familiarity and comfort of home.

I have a 2-hour train ride to Florence Santa Maria Novella, then transfer to a 30-minute ride to Bologna Centrale. From there I'll take a 7-minute monorail to Bologna Airport. Then it's an hour and a half flight to Paris where I'll layover overnight then catch a flight to LAX. I'll layover overnight again in LAX before catching a flight home to Honolulu. Phew! I got tired just writing all of that. Now to actually do it all...

Ciao!
